The band was born in the city of Rijeka in March, 2000. The members are: Mihael Prosen (singer), Davor Tomic - Pinky (guitar), Sasha Vukosav (drums), Fraño Jardas (bass guitar) and Dario Pazanin - Borut (guitar). With their prior work, the members of Father influenced the music making process in various Croatian bands.

Laddio Bolocko from New York had a great influence on the forming of Father. Having experienced the music expression and the concert performance of the aforementioned band, the members of Easyman decided it was time to take a new direction, and to create fresh material which won’t urge the listeners to automatically force it into any of the moulds of world music. As for other musical role models, there are a few bands that left a deep mark in the creativity of each member of Father (Faith No More, Tool, Deftones, Pantera, Alice In Chains, Machine Head...), but it is just by moving away from the norms and boundaries that were set by each of these bands, that Father wants to pop up from the sea of copycats and various attempts of imitating popular bands, and to show music they produce in a more original and distinctive way. Today, after years and years of ‘entombment’ in a shelter where they practice, the five members of this band are proud owners of a great debut record “Inspirita”, hoping they won’t be ‘passed over in silence’ because of its (as it is often regarded in Croatia) ‘too vehement’ expression.

Along with over 100 shows all over Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Hercegovina (Zagreb, Rijeka, Split, Dubrovnik, Pula, Ljubljana, Mostar, Sarajevo…), Father’s big success is winning the qualifications for ROCK OTOCEC 2003 where they competed with 182 bands. This festival is known to have been the place where big bands such as Henry Rollins, NoMeansNo, Asian Dub Foundation, Dog Eat Dog and H-Blockx performed. That year Father played on the main stage just before the mighty Apocalyptica. Later on Father also had a privillage to open s special Croatian concert from metal legends Anthrax, and the band almost won the world wide competition in which the award was a place on the USA Lollapalooza Festival. The band ended at 16th place in a race with over 600 bands from all over the world. This past summer the boys played the huge MTV festival in Zagreb, opening for the likes of The Hives and other huge international bands.

In Croatia they thrived with the performance in the final of the musical competition ‘INKUBATOR’, a project organized by the record company ‘Aquarius records’, exclusive representative for ‘Universal' in Croatia. The award was album recording and publishing. With this show in club Aquarius in Zagreb (one of the most popular clubs in Croatia), they were included in the gang of twelve best Croatian demo bands.

In the spring of 2005. the band signed a record deal with Dallas Records ( EMI / Virgin /V2 / Mute exclusive licence partner in Croatia) and Mars Music Publishing in Croatia, with big hopes from all sides that this product has got a bright future outside of their home country. Critics are already raving about debut album “Inspirita”, and first single and video for the track “Machina” were on heavy rotation on national radio and TV charts. MTV Adria played the video constantly and the band was featured on the channels edition of Headbangers Ball show! The brand new video for “Cynosure” is about to start airing on all music channels in the region. International press so far includes features in British Metal Hammer, on the mighty Blabbermouth web site, and some great reviews in European metal magazines.
The biggest show in Father career has happened past November in their home town of Rijeka, where around 1.100 fans showed up at club Tocka to enjoy the gig and celebrate the release of the debut record “Inspirita”. They also sold out the legendary Zagreb club Kset when 350 people packed the club ! The tour of ex Yugoslavian territory is going strong, with Bosnian, Slovenian and Croatian dates rollin out week after week. Possible European festivals are planned for this summer.

The author of the visual identity behind the Father web site and the CD is Mirko Zorz, the biggest Father fan in the world. Until today they had more than 150000 hits on their web site.

Bend je nastao u gradu Rijeci u ozujku 2000. godine. Clanovi su:

Mihael Prosen (vokal), Davor Tomic-Pinky (gitara), Sasa Vukosav (bubnjevi), Franjo Jardas (bas-gitara) i Dario Pazanin (gitara). Razni bendovi utjecali su na glazbeni izricaj grupe Father, ali upravo odmicanjem od pravila i okvira koji je svaki od tih bendova zadao Father zeli isplivati iz mora kopija i raznih pokusaja oponasanja omiljenih bendova, te na sto originalniji i sebi svojstven nacin predociti glazbu koju stvara. Danas, nakon pet godina postojanja, pet clanova ovog sastava ponosni su vlasnici albuma prvijenca “Inspirita” za koji se nadaju da, zbog svog neobicnog ili (kako se cesto cuje u hrvatskim krajevima) “prezestokog” glazbenog izricaja, nece biti “presucen”.

Materijal je sniman u studiju G.I.S. u Rijeci 2004. i 2005. godine, te u studiju “Tivoli” 2005. godine, a album je izasao 01.10. ove godine za “DALLAS RECORDS”, najvecu diskografsku kucu na podrucju Slovenije i Hrvatske, koja po prvi put objavljuje ovako zestoki materijal na engleskom jeziku. Dallas Records sprema promotivnu kampanju na svim prostorima bivse Jugoslavije, na muzickoj televiziji MTV ADRIA, te plasirati album na inozemno trziste (EMI, V2).

Uz preko 100 koncerata diljem Hrvatske, Slovenije, Bosne i Hecegovine (Zagreb, Rijeka, Split, Dubrovnik, Pula, Osijek, Ljubljana, Zenica, Travnik...), jedan od najvecih dosadasnjih uspjeha je nastup u kvalifikacijama za “ROCK OTOCEC 2003” gdje je grupa u konkurenciji od 182 benda osvojila 1. mjesto! Taj slovenski festival je poznat po tome sto je ugostio velike bendove poput Henry Rollins Band, NoMeansNo, Asian Dub Foundation, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Dog Eat Dog, H-Blockx, a Father je te godine nastupio sa grupama Apocalyptica i Stereo MC’s.

Jedan od uspjeha je i ulazak u finale medjunarodnog festivala “MUSIC FEST LIVE” (ex. “Heineken Fest”) u Bosni i Hercegovini gdje su osvojili nagradu za najbolji vokal, a nesluzbeno su, putem novina, proglaseni najenergicnijim bendom.

U Hrvatskoj se ponose nastupom u finalu glazbenog natjecanja “INKUBATOR”, projekta pokrenutog od izdavacke kuce “Aquarius records” (nagrada - izdavanje albuma), koncert je odrzan u zagrebackom klubu Aquarius pocetkom 2002. godine, gdje su uvrsteni medju 12 najboljih hrvatskih demo-bendova (velik uspjeh za tzv. “metal” bend posto ta vrsta glazbe u hrvatskom izdavastvu, do sada, nije postojala!).

Takodjer, na internet-natjecanju “STREETFIGHT”, organiziranom od strane americke promotorske kuce “STREETWISE”, gdje je nagrada bila nastup na “LOLLAPALOOZA FESTIVAL-u”, u konkurenciji od vise od 600 bendova iz cijelog svijeta zavrsili su na 16. mjestu zahvaljujuci internet glasovima iz cijelog svijeta!

Prosle su godine pozvani otvoriti svecanost dodjele diskografskih nagrada “PORIN” (hrvatski “Grammy”) gdje su nastupili sa legendarnom rijeckom skupinom LET3, pocetkom svibnja ove godine otvorili su festival “HARTERA” u Rijeci gdje su nastupili sa velikim imena ex YU scene poput grupa LAIBACH, LET3, URBAN&4, EYESBURN…, a velika cast im je ukazana pozivom da otvore koncert slavnoj americkoj grupi Anthrax krajem 6. mjeseca ove godine!

U planu su daljnji koncerti po Hrvatskoj, Sloveniji i Bosni i Hecegovini kao i Nizozemskoj, Austriji, Svicarskoj i drugim europskim zemljama.

Snimljen je i dokumentarni film u produkciji”JADRAN FILMA“ pod naslovom „Od Uragana do Urbana“ redatelja Bernardina Modrica i scenarista Koraljka Pasarica, film se bavi tematikom povijesti rijecke rock scene od njenih pocetaka do danasnjih dana, a medju akterima filma, eminentnim bendovima poput Laufer, Let3, Denis&Denis, Paraf, Uragani, Termiti, Urban&4 te mnogim drugima nalazi se i bend Father, jedini kao predstavnik “mladje” generacije rijeckih glazbenih snaga. Film je u kino i video distribuciji sirom bivse Jugoslavije.

Autor vizualnog identiteta Fatherovog web site-a i CD-covera je Mirko Zorz, veliki prijatelj benda ciji VJ-ing takodjer mozete dozivjeti u sklopu nastupa grupe. Do danas je registrirano preko 150000 posjeta iz cijelog svijeta.
